As a global sustainable fashion solution provider, Grace adheres to the concept of "Green Manufacturing, Circular Development", and continuously improves the level of sustainable development by taking actions in various fields such as sustainable raw material sourcing, technological product innovation, R&D of next-gen solutions, construction of a sustainable supply chain network, and enhancement of ESG management, etc. For the first time ever, Grace has reached 30 buttons in the Canopy’s Hot Button Report 2023, and has been awarded with the highest rating of "Dark Green Shirt".
Sustainable raw material procurement
Grace's raw materials mainly come from green, sustainable, transparent and traceable forests and bamboos, released our wood pulp procurement policy in 2018, and supports the protection of endangered forests globally; Grace has obtained the FSC-COC certificate, and took the lead in joining the FSC's Fashion Forever Green Pact, playing an active role in maintaining supply chain integrity; and we’re actively co-operating with suppliers, releasing supplier list to create a transparent and traceable supply chain.
Promotion of recycling of wasted textiles
Grace launches its recycled product, Regracell®, which is made from Circulose® pulp, a recycling pulp made from 100% wasted textiles by ReNewCell in Sweden and FSC certified wood sources, and is produced using a improved viscose process with dual certification from RCS and FSC, realising the recycling of wasted textiles in the fashion industry. At the same time, we have joined the Circulose® supply chain network to promote sustainable development in the fashion industry. At present, Circulose® pulp accounts for 30% of Regracell® filament yarn and 50% of Gracell® staple fibre, with an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons. Grace intends to continue to increase the proportion of wasted textiles included in Regracell® products, with plans to increase the proportion of Circulose® pulp to 50% in Regracell® filament yarn and 100% in Gracell® staple fibre by 2024.
Non-wood fiber Next-gen solutions
SGS reports that the carbon footprint of bamboo pulp is more than 30 per cent lower than that of traditional wood pulp. Bamboo pulp has significant low-carbon advantages and natural anti-bacterial properties. Yibin is rich in bamboo resources, and the factory that produces bamboo pulp is less than 50 kilometres from Grace, which is a short transport distance and greatly reduces carbon emissions during transportation. At the same time, Grace uses FSC-certified bamboo pulp for the production of MMCF, which reduces the carbon footprint based on PLM.
Grace's work in protecting endangered forests, focusing on biodiversity, researching and developing next-gen fibres, and promoting traceability throughout the industry chain has been recognised by Canopy with 30 buttons for the hot button rating 2023. The road ahead is long, striving is the only way forward. In the future, Grace will work together with Canopy, upstream and downstream supply chain partners and others to promote the sustainability of the fashion industry.
